From Muzzy’s website:

Developed by the BBC, MUZZY’s “see and say, listen and learn” method patterns the way children learn their first language. MUZZY follows national foreign language standards which emphasize the use of functional language, repetition and “spiraling.” In MUZZY, words and concepts are first introduced, and then introduced again and again in many new contexts.

My dd’s LOVE watching this and have learned how to introduce themselves as Princesses in Mandarin so something is working. I have a harder time with Muzzy since it is entirely in Mandarin, I often get confused as to what the word or phrase they are saying is referring to…most times it is obvious, but sometimes it is not. I have found that the translation book that comes with the DVD’s is VERY helpful to me (my dd’s prefer to just watch the movie). You can put on the subtitles, but I found that my dd’s then just read the subtitles and didn’t bother to listen anymore.
